How Is Your Arm Stroke – Kick Co-ordination?

More Arm Kick Co-ordination

One thing at a time.

My biggest pet peeve with online ‘coaching’ is people trying to fix everything at once.
You wouldn’t do the same for someone on the uneven parallel bars.
An athlete that couldn’t dead hang for more than a few seconds.  You would not take that person and try and teach them a complicated stunt.

You are coaching a novice skier that doesn’t know how to stop or slow down.  Would you put that person on a Triple Black Diamond run?  Likely not.
Learning swimming is the same.
In some of these videos, an experienced swimmer can likely find numerous things to correct.
But not really knowing what the swimmer started with, they have no way of knowing the right aspect of this person’s stroke to tackle.

This swimmer has gone from being winded swimming a couple of hundred metres to being confident and not winded after a 1400 metre swim.
With just a few minor changes in his stroke and training regime.

He needs to practice more on the arm exit, kick co-ordination.
But it’s coming along admirably.
Getting better rotation will help with this as well.

Stay tuned.
