Rotation, Rotation, Rotation Swim Drill

Rotation: Swim On Your Side Drill

I can’t stress this enough.
Proper rotation will help with breathing.

So there is less stress on the neck.
It will absolutely make you more streamlined.
You will cut through the water instead of pushing it.

Do this drill every workout!

With fins.  I prefer longer fins.  I kick more slowly with these.
Doing a two beat kick, I want that practice of a slower kick.
The idea here is to drill as close as to what you actually do in your swim stroke.

Try and get your sweet spot.  The angle that works best for you.
Whether it be a 45° or 55°, you want something that feels comfortable.
Allows you to breath easily.
Allows your exiting arm not to stress your shoulder over much.
Too much of an angle will over stress the arm/shoulder that is in the water.

Doing this drill correctly, you will feel your stroke extend.
You will be more efficient.
Less joint stress

Best drill in the book.
