You have a nice relaxed swim stroke with your freestyle.
A bit too relaxed. 🙂
You are holding your ‘glide’ a bit too long.
In freestyle, as your arm is entering the water, you want to push forward and down at the same time.
As if you are pushing your hand and arm over a big beach ball or a barrel. So your elbow is not 'dropped' and very slightly high.
Pushing hand and arm forward, down and back all at the same time.
You slowly build up force.
When you get about half way, then you really drive your hand back, exiting with full force. Most of your thrust is at that back end.
And you are doing a hard kick at the same time.
Think more power than speed.
Start with that and we’ll work on some other techniques as we go.
